Getting started

Probably Stolen – Cyberpunk Shopkeeper Sim is a pixel-art shop simulator set on a space station split between the rich and everyone else. You play a former scavenger who got a storefront in the Lower Levels on borrowed money. You buy, sell, craft and occasionally smuggle goods whose origins are best not asked about. The goal is to earn enough to buy the shop outright before the ever-rising rent breaks you.

It is made by Questing Goose Studio, a small Montreal team led by Bei Ning Pan, and published by tinyBuild. The developer names Space Station 13 and Papers, Please as the main inspirations.

As of September 10, 2026.

  1. Customers come to you. Some want to sell, some want to buy, some want something else entirely. Security officers fishing for evidence, revolutionaries and down-on-their-luck elites all walk through the door.
  2. Inspect before you pay. Check details, condition, seals and lettering with the magnifying glass. Suppliers overstate value, and fakes are common.
  3. Haggle and decide. Approve the deal, refuse it, report the customer or look the other way. Every choice moves your reputation with someone.
  4. Watch for augs. People controlled by a rogue AI look normal until they slip. You keep a gun under the counter. See Augs & the rogue AI.
  5. Restock and produce. Order supplies by phone, run your machines, and manage a grid inventory that fills up fast.
  6. Survive the night. Thieves strike after closing, and contraband makes you a bigger target.
  7. Pay rent. It goes up no matter how your week went.
  • Standing still is losing. Rent only rises, so your income has to keep growing.
  • Appraise before buying anything expensive. Misjudge an item or its seller and you absorb the loss.
  • Big margins have big consequences. Counterfeits, stolen goods and contraband pay best and hurt most when they go wrong.
  • Don’t flaunt contraband. Since patch 48.3.12, passing an inspection after displaying contraband earns no Security reputation.
  • Read the Mentor’s dossier on your counter. It holds guides and letters.
  • Save Rock Bottom for later. It is the hardcore start with nothing.
