Stories & special encounters

The station newspaper

There are stories behind the transactions. Some customers return with changing circumstances, some ask for help, and others bring the consequences of a previous deal back to your counter.

This overview covers the demo, build 049-Rev3-L. “Connected story” means the inspected game code schedules the visits; it does not mean every choice has been tested in a save. Story text the demo never schedules is left out for now.

These three storylines run through the normal story scheduler, which is skipped in endless mode. Later visits can require a previous choice or character state.

Character The story What your decisions affect
Georgio Dubious salvage, repeated arrests and a plan to build a spaceship Whether to fund the ship; the eventual repayment
Eleanor An Upper Levels resident loses her money and has to start over Helping her with food enables a later scavenger visit
Officer Lun A wounded officer’s requests develop into an off-the-books side business His addiction state gates later visits; arrest can stop a later inspection

Their pages contain plot and outcome spoilers. The scheduler uses particular days as well as state checks, so missing a scene does not prove a story has been removed. This wiki does not promise a universal day-by-day route for every save.

  • Salvage Ship Pilot: a real minor customer who works the wrecks outside the station. This is a short encounter, separate from Georgio’s spaceship plot.
  • Wanted customers: familiar-looking visitors can conceal a bounty. The wanted list and reporting system are a different mechanic from recurring story progression.
  • Joe Wild, Dr. Jackson, the Mentor and the Landlord: introductions and service visits teach or unlock parts of running the shop.
  • Sawyer and the janitorial staff: storefront cleaning leads into the Underground Exchange.
  • Sector 13 Cartel: a protection arrangement becomes a recurring production obligation.
  • Augs and the rogue AI: an apparently ordinary customer can be part of the station’s wider crisis.

Read Events & the newspaper for harvests, shortages, blackouts, faction operations and flavor-only headlines. An ordinary supply crisis is not automatically a personal quest, and a newspaper story about another shopkeeper is not your own ending.
